WebPD is a virtual webinar designed to introduce educators at the junior high and high school level to the current curriculum development trends in Financial Literacy in Canada, and to explore a wide range of resources and strategies aimed at engaging learners at all levels.The program consists of a one-hour National Workshop (prerecorded for viewing anytime) and a choice of four one and one half-hour Regional Workshops. Each workshop will also provide an opportunity for an additional thirty-minutes of Q and A. The Canadian Foundation for Economic Education (CFEE) and CIBC are challenging Canada’s youth to apply their creativity and skills to create new tools and resources to help other young Canadians improve their financial knowledge for a chance to give high school-aged youth (14-18) the opportunity to win $10,000*!

Talk with Our Kids About Money – program and competition

A FUN AND VIRTUAL WAY TO EXPLORE THE WORLD OF MONEY – AND WIN A PRIZE!

The Canadian Foundation for Economic Education has introduced “Talk With Our Kids About Money Day” across Canada and it is intended to “get the conversations started” by helping young people learn more about money and personal finances. It’s a fun and interactive program for kids, parents, and teachers that takes the stress out of “Having the Talk.”

This year we have a contest for students ages 8 -14 called the Virtual Money Fair Contest. Virtual Money Fair involves students, either learning at home or in the classroom, selecting a money topic that is of interest to them, undertaking research to explore and learn about that topic, and then preparing a creative and engaging video presentation that showcases the outcome of their research and what they learned.

We will be getting submissions from across the entire country, posting them on the secure CFEE website and then highlighting the winner announced at the National Money Fair on May 16th. Final Date for Submission:

May 4,2022, 11:59pm EST

Prizes:

$2000 for first prize, $1000 for second prize, $500 for third prize
